The FCI has recently been Dr. Tamás Jakkel
made aware that the Welsh
Government is currently con-
sulting on new Regulations re-
garding Animal Exhibits which
includes a proposal that anyone
exhibiting (showing) a dog in
Wales will need to be licensed
and inspected.

The FCI, representing 98 na-
tional canine organisations
worldwide, through its Gen-
eral Committee, would like to
express its clear opposition to
this proposal, which could set
a dramatic precedent for the
European canine scene. The
world of pedigree dogs has to
remain united and show its
clear disagreement to such a
disastrous project which would
badly impact the Kennel Club
and Welsh economy. As a long-
standing partner, the FCI wants
to express its solidarity with the
Kennel Club and encourage all
its (FCI) Members and Contract
Partners to join our firm posi-
tion.
